Introduction
First of all I would like to introduce myself. My name is Katie
Wray and I have been a member of the club for about 4 years now. I
own an Arabian stallion named Baskraz+ (Razafraz), and a Paint mare
named Koda (Kodakins). My horses are my life, and I don’t know what
I would do without them. I know most of you feel the same way! I
live in Murfreesboro and go to MTSU. I am 23 years old, and plan on
graduating with a Psychology degree…in the near future!
What I would like to
see
I would really like to see the youth participate in things that will
further their knowledge of the Arabian breed, and also allow them to
participate in things that will help their community.

in youth activities, contact
Katie!

"Dear Katie,
Thank you so much for taking time to go with the girls
of the Drill Team to Youth Jamboree. I really appreciate
the patience and care that you show the girls each
individually. It really is something that you do that I
am quite proud to see. It is almost a mentoring that I
have observed. It is very good for the developing self
esteem and even these old self esteems that seem all the
better for it as well. I appreciate your kindness and
understanding with the events that transpired. I
appreciate all the pictures, words of encouragement,
hugs, smiles, and care that you gave and continue to
give. Thanks again for all your good work!
Sincerely,
Phyllis Whitlock"
"Dear Phyllis,
Thank you so much for your kind
words!! I try and treat the kids like they were my own
brothers or sisters! I adore every single chance i get
to be with you all, and wouldn't trade my experiences
for anything!
Thanks,
Katie"

MTAHA Youth at the Youth Jamboree 2007
First of all I want to thank
the club for GENEROUSLY giving us the money and support to go the
Georgia again this year! I promise you, the money was GREATLY
appreciated to everyone!! I don't know if we would have been able to go
without your support, so THANK YOU! Marcia, if it wasn't for your
AMAZING GENEROSITY we would have probably died!! It was SO hot, but the
golf cart was a heaven sent!! Thank you so much!!
Secondly, I want to thank each one of the parents who helped in anyway,
shape, or form! Without your help, we would not have been able to pull
the week off! I don't know if you all know how much of a help you all
were, so THANK YOU!
I am pretty sure I can speak for everyone when I say that we had a great
week!! As always, the girls learned a lot and had fun! Everyone chipped
in and helped as much as possible, all the horses arrived there and back
safe, and we had no accidents!
So, to sum this up...THANK YOU to everyone!!!!

Youth/Drill Team
The Drill Team is made up of six youth and
their horses. The Team is orchestrated by MTAHA President, Darlene Dixon-Bottorff.
They perform a pattern of basic dressage movements to selected songs. They must
be able to walk, trot, and canter on their own. The youth must have enough
skills to ride in tight pairs and be able to keep up with their partner during
the performance. This year’s main theme is mounted Arabian Native Costume.
Their costumes are being handmade and the Club colors, navy and silver.
If you haven’t seen them perform, I would
encourage you to do so, it is really something to watch! Their first
performance will be at the Volunteer Horse Fair on March 17th.
